by librarynerd82, 1877The pub and road no longer exist in the same form and it would appear that Parliament Square took over the space. It is fascinating to think that these men would wander around the area looking for likely candidates for the army. These candidates were then persuaded to join up with a few pints on HM in the local, The Mitre and Dove.
