50 years of Women's Varsity Athletics at Springfield College

This collection celebrates fifty years of women's athletics at Springfield College. Although the college offered women's athletic activities as early as 1951, the women's varsity program did not begin until the 1963-1964 academic year. Thanks to the important efforts of early leaders like Dr. Ruth Evans, Betty Wiesner, Diane Potter, Jone Bush, and Martha van Allen, women's athletics has grown into the robust and successful program we see today. Share, comment and correct any of the information you see on these images. We would love to learn more!
