These are just a few of the photos taken by Flight Sergeant Richard Lyford of RCAF 120 Bomber Reconnaissance Squadron during the Second World War. Lyford was born in Regina in 1916 and passed away at the Shaughnessy Military Hospital in Vancouver on June 24, 1944. Although RCAF 120 Bomber Reconnaissance Squadron was based in Coal Harbour on northern Vancouver Island Lyford worked out of many bases on the west coast and at Bombing and Gunnery training facilities in Saskatchewan and Alberta. This collection contains a wide variety of images from his time spent on bases throughout western Canada. Photos will be added over the coming weeks and months.
